We are adopting from Colombia!

Our adoption journey began while living in Suriname, South America, where we met and adopted an amazing 2 year old boy who is now 10. Upon returning to live in the USA, we signed up for Foster Care in our state and had the privilege of caring for 5 kids over a three-year period, but despite our overwhelming love for each of them, adoption did not become an option in their cases. 

Longing to be able to care permanently for more kids, our attention was drawn to international adoption but the challenges seemed so huge... While pondering the decision Christina received a call from All God's Children International and was asked, "Would you be interested in adopting from Colombia?" After nearly dropping the phone, she managed to answer, "David is in Colombia RIGHT NOW!" 

After much prayer, thought, and conversation we felt that pursuing an international adoption from Colombia was the right choice for our family! Thanks to donations we have been able to cover the costs of step 1-4... now steps 5 & 6!

Step 1: Contract with All God's Children International DONE! ($5,850)
Step 2: Home Study, post-placement reports, and psychological clearance DONE! ($3,400)
Step 3: Submit Dossier to Colombia (plus translation & Immigration pre-approval) DONE!($8,000)
Step 4: Match with a child. ($3,250)
Step 5: Three weeks' travel to Colombia for in-country adoption, US immigration, and return to USA with our family. ($7,000 to $8,000 depending on ticket costs)
Step 6: USA Re-adoption per state law. ($2,500)
