E4 - Going on Mission

E4 was started in August of 2016 by a group of men desiring the Experience of fellowship as we each seek to walk closer with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, by Exposing and Educating ourselves to both teaching and practical application of the Gospel as we Enrich our lives under the discipleship of Jesus. In a discussion about our purpose and identity we began to pray for an opportunity to go on mission - a radical challenge for all of us.

 Matthew 25:37-40

37 “Then the righteous will answer Him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink? 38 When did we see You a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You? 39 Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?’ 40 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, in as much as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’

 Mission to Honduras Part 2: March 1st - March 7th, 2020

Late April 2017 we launched our first mission trip partnering with the team from Honduras Baptist Dental Mission Inc. The trip was focused on serving the least of these in one of the most remote areas of Honduras. We helped build 3 houses, engaged in door to door evangelism, preached the Good News and seeing over 20 professions of faith. We got to build some lifelong relationships with the incredible team that serve full-time at the Mission in Honduras, and we received the blessing of saving the life of a little boy that had a serious head trauma after being kicked in the head badly by a wild horse. 

We are going back! 

Our last trip established a deep desire to do more and come back soon again. The needs are beyond our comprehension. We hope to bring an even bigger team this time around as we seek to abide and live out our faith, hope, and calling to proclaim the Good News of Jesus Christ. We will again have to bring all of our supplies as we are planning for limited electricity and fresh water supply. We will be sleeping on cots in a local school or Church. Our hope is to establish 3 or more cinder block houses in a remote village. These houses will typically have 2-3 small rooms and a pila - a small water reservoir serving as a place to wash and do dishes. Future occupants are typically a young mother with multiple kids and maybe an older parent or grandparent that have been left to live in a mud home like the one on the top of the page. 

All the material that we will need will be made from scratch using sand and gravel from a local creek bed, wood planks will be cut by hand or chainsaw if we can find someone willing to sell us a couple trees. We are exploring the idea of purchasing a concrete mixer to bring with us as as hand mixing on the ground really limits the speed of our efforts. This trip will not be without challenges, yet we have found it to be such a privilege and blessing.
