African colonization in the late 1800s led to the partitioning of this region into the countries of Kenya, Uganda, and Tanzania. Tribes and families were forcefully split apart, creating ethnic division and distress. Today, as these countries come together in partnership, healing is taking place among the Kabwa, Kuria, Jita, and Jaluos peoples. Crop production, livestock, and fishing are essential to the area’s economy. Although there are some churches in the populated towns, many in the villages and rural areas have never heard the Gospel! Traditional religion rooted in ancestral worship and witchcraft still has a grasp on much of the population.
What We’re Doing
The goal of this expedition is to find and raise up local trailblazers who will spread the Gospel. Through home-to-home evangelism and discipleship, we will connect with individuals who have the potential to influence their community. As we leave, our local partners will continue to disciple the emerging leaders. In just one week, you can take a leap of faith, share the Gospel with dozens of people, and fuel a Gospel movement that outlives your time on this Earth!
