Guinea Bissau is home to one of the world’s highest maternal death rates. More mothers die giving birth in Guinea Bissau than most other countries in the world.

Thirteen percent of children under the age of five die in Guinea Bissau every year, compared to less than one percent in the United States.

At Hope Remembered we don’t just look at Guinea Bissau as statistics, but as people. These numbers represent grieving families, a suffering child, a hopeless father.

We currently partner with missionaries that are providing medical care to the least reached areas of Guinea Bissau. Through our partnership we are helping set up medical clinics staffed by long term medical missionaries as well as medically trained locals. In the future we desire to see short term medical teams supporting our full time staff.

At Hope Remembered we desire these clinics to be places of Hope where hurting people receive prayer and hear of the One who can truly heal.

We want to see mothers raise their children. We want fathers to be empowered to meet the needs of their family. We want children and families to thrive.

In the place of suffering we want access to services. In the place of helplessness we want hope.
