Almost 4 years ago, our journey to parenthood began. For both Jules and I, having a family was something we spent a lot of time talking about, even while we were dating. After our first year of marriage, we began to really pray for God to give us a baby. This journey has been one of anticipation, excitement, and heartache. For almost 3 years, we prayed for a family, but God kept answering “wait.” In November of 2016, we found out we were expecting our first child. It was a dream come true and such an answer to prayer. In February, we learned at an appointment that we had miscarried. This was the start of doctor appointments, testing, and lots of questions, but no real problem could be identified. In June 2017, we found out again that we were expecting, but this pregnancy ended very quickly leaving us heartbroken again.
Adoption has always been something we have talked about pursuing, but always wanted to have biological children as well. In July 2015 during our struggle to start a family, we really started talking about how maybe God was calling us to adoption and not giving us biological kids as a way to open our hearts to this. We now feel confident that God is clearly opening doors and desires us to pursue adoption. Jules and I are excited about the opportunity to provide a home for the child God has intended for us. We can not wait to meet our son or daughter. Thank you for joining us on this adventure!
