Heartline Missions Outreach to Haiti
This upcoming September, I will be joining a team of women going Haiti for
a second year in a row. James 2:5 says, "Listen my dear brothers and
sisters: Has not God chosen those who are poor in the eyes of the world to be
rich in faith and to inherit the kingdom he promised those who love him?".
I have to say that I was completely humbled by the richness of faith that my
Haitian brothers and sisters in Christ posses. It was a privilege and honor to
serve alongside them as we shared the hope and love of Jesus with others, fed the
hungry and met other tangible needs. These trips align our heart with God's
heart; his love for the least of these, his heart for the orphan, his desire
for the lost to be brought back to him. I'm looking forward to the good works
that God has set before us and being molded more and more into the women he
desires me to be.
The Chanje Movement is the organization we will be going with and they are
in close partnership with our church in building lasting relationships in
Haiti. The Chanje Movement looks to empower the people of Haiti not just give
hand outs. Although we are there to help for a week at a time the Haitian's are
there everyday living life. The Chanje Movement gives them tools to help change
their community everyday of the year. It has also given my husband and I the
personal privilege of sponsoring the adorable boy, Ronel, in the picture above. He lives at one of the
two orphanages that Chanje helps to support. I can not wait to see him again,
encourage him in his faith and remind him our mighty God is for him.
I am kindly asking that you consider helping me in prayer, encouragement
and financial giving, if you feel called.
As I shared above the impact the trip had on me, here are some highlights of
what we did to make an impact on the community:
- Shared the
Gospel message, and prayed over hundreds of people in personal 1-on-1
moments,
- Brought joy
to neighborhood kids, orphans at Chanje Lakay and families as we played soccer,
basketball, danced, laughed, and loved on whole communities;
- Brought much
needed food, about 3,000 meals in total and toiletries to multiple communities
and the hundreds of families within;
- Funded the
building of a long-overdue flooring project in one of the orphanages homes, and
provided our own sweat-equity as we labored alongside the Haitians who were
employed to perform the work.
- Encouraged
and poured into several Haitian translators looking to make a difference in
their communities and country
I can't wait to see all that God has in store for me, my team members and
the people of Haiti on this next trip. Looking forward to sharing more amazing
stories with you when we return.
Thank you so much for you help,
Jacqueline
