Miles for Mercy is raising money to provide clean, adequate, and safe water to Rehema House (maternity home run by Mercy House Global in Kenya), as well as affordable, reliable water to surrounding communities.
One of the homes is located in an area characterized by water shortage which is a common problem experienced by adjacent neighbors and surrounding communities. Water in the entire area is supplied by a monopolized water project that covers an extremely wide area. Additionally, water is only supplied two days in a week which is inadequate and also very expensive.
Rehema House has recently drilled a well that will ensure that the residents, their babies, and staff have adequate water. The new well will provide water above and beyond the needs of Rehema House. Miles For Mercy will raise funds to develop a working business for the home that will enhance sustainability by supplying water to adjacent neighbors through:
-Piped water to their homesteads at an affordable fee.
-Water bottling and supply to clients such as hotels, shopping malls, churches etc.
-Sale of water to trucks and the communities at an affordable rate.
