He is only four, but has already undergone 21 major head surgeries.

Grayson Crago was born in 2015 . He was an outgoing, happy little boy. In the early years of his life, he was diagnosed with Chiari Malformation, a condition where there are structural defects at the base of the skull and cerebellum, the part of the brain that controls a person's balance. In a normal brain, the cerebellum and parts of the brainstem rest above the opening in the skull where the spinal cord goes through, this is called the foramen magnum. With Chiari Malformation, cerebellum extends below the foramen magnum, and into the upper spinal cord. This condition can develop when there are parts of the skull that are smaller than they should be, causing the cerebellum to be forced down into the foramen magnum and the spinal cord. When this happens it causes pressure to the cerebellum and the brainstem, and blocks vital fluids for getting where it needs to go.

When Grayson’s parents got married they bought a fixer-upper house together in Azle. They planned to restore and renovate it to become their dream home. As the years past, they had four children, but made very little progress on their house because to of their kids were diagnosed with the condition. The condition causes all sorts of pain, and with that, Grayson’s parents paused the renovation of their house.
