We are adopting a child!

We are beyond excited and are doing everything we can to be prepared to welcome a beautiful new life into our home. As part of our adoption process, we have started a crowdfunding campaign. It may surprise you to hear that adoption related costs can easily total up to $35,000 or more. This is why we have set a goal of $7,500 to help ease the financial burden that often overwhelms adoptive parents.

Toby, Luna and I have prayed, talked and cried over this decision. We are many months into this, and about to start our PRIDE training and finish the home study.

We spend all our evenings on adoptuskids.org and there are thousands of children waiting for a forever home, and I know we can provide a loving space for one of these kids.   The rough part is coming up with big chunks of money up front.  That is why we are asking for help.  The adoption costs about $10,000.  We are about $2,500 in.  We were hoping to take out a credit union loan for the rest, but my parent passed away who was part of the credit union.  Hey, not everything can be easy, and we will not be giving up on this.  It was just a hard road block, but I know he wouldn't want us to give up either.

I am pretty sure I can keep you all updated on here, and I plan to!  We are just waiting for the state to send me paperwork to start classes!
