Friends and Family, 

We are so excited to announce that we have started the process of adoption! We have been planning this for a long time and now the Lord has given us the green light. During a time of fasting Cle felt the Lord leading him to begin the adoption process. He and his wife Damaris started to pray earnestly about it and the very next morning at church she met a new couple who had just adopted. It was very encouraging to hear their story and to meet an adoptive family. Several reasons and happenings kept drawing our hearts to India so this decision was clear from the beginning. Our children Sarah Grace, Cleon, Luisa and Vivianne are very excited as well and keep praying for their new sibling to come.

Children are the most valuable commodity in the world and too often are neglected and abused simply because they cannot speak for themselves. There are an estimated 140 million children without loving homes worldwide. We cannot care for all of these but have committed to making a difference in the life of at least one. 

Currently, our plan is to adopt one to two special needs children from India, the country with the most orphans worldwide. Most likely our future children are already born and so we are praying for the Lord to send them loving people, medicine, food and clothing in our absence as we tackle the mountain of paperwork ahead. 

As many of you may know, international adoption is a long journey of up to three years involving many challenges including a significant financial burden ($35,000). This money is used to pay professional and legal services in the US and India in order to ensure the integrity of the entire adoption process. We have chosen to use Lifeline Children's Services who not only provide care for the children who will be adopted but also for those children who are not adopted. 

Every adoption begins with a child in crisis and so as friends and family we ask you to join us in praying for our child. Please pray for a warm bed, a full belly and loving touches, for smiles, laughs and peaceful dreams. Pray for medicine, protection and prompt journey home!

We currently do not have the finances for this endeavor but trust that the Lord will provide in one way or another. The sooner finances are available the quicker the process can go as each step is paid for individually.
