3 years, 9 months and 12 days ago we took the first steps to start our adoption journey. Little did we know that it would take 3 years, 9 months and 12 days for the Lord to get our hearts ready to say yes to the story that He wanted to write. We had been open to 1 or maybe 2 children, even considering a large variety of medical special needs. But never did we dream that the Lord had four beautiful boys waiting for us in Colombia!

Three teens and a little one…their biggest need is that they are older kids and a part of a large bonded sibling group. The oldest is approaching the crossroad of aging out of care. Can you imagine living with the fear that you are going to be separated from your siblings at any moment? Family adds so much joy to our lives! We are excited to be able to include them as a part of ours.

Our adoption timeline has changed dramatically over the last six months. We had been on a slow savings plan thinking that we had another two years of waiting and saving. However, when we decided to pursue our boys, as waiting children, it dramatically changed both the timing and the cost of travel, visas, medical exams and documents. We hope to travel as soon as November!  

We had gotten to the half way point through saving and extra work. We estimate that it will take an additional 23K to complete the adoption in the next 6 weeks. Many have asked how they can be a part of the story. As we approach the year end, we also know that many of you derive joy from giving in a way that is personal; being a part of a story that God is writing that includes caring for the most vulnerable.   We hope to be able to celebrate the holidays together as one family.
