The mother runs an M-Pesa shop that helps support them. They live in a rental one room house about a twenty-minute walk to CGA. They buy water for use and have electricity for lighting. They use charcoal and gas for cooking. Michael used to go to another school. He did very well on his CGA entry test, and we trust he will do very well at CGA. 2020 Update: This is Michael's second year at CGA. He successfully finished grade three and is now in grade four though his grade four teacher is very concerned with his academic performance in general. This has been shared with the mother and she has promised to find someone who will assist Michael with extra tutoring at home. We trust he will do well. Michael and his baby sister live happily with their mother in a different house from the one where we first met them. They live in a rental tin house that is close to the road. His health has improved a lot and his allergies are manageable. His mother runs a grocery and grains kiosk by the road. This helps to pay rent and buy food. Occasionally they are supported by his grandmother.
