Violet Nyagechanga was born on the 5th of March 2001. She joined the CGA nursery class in January 2006. She is the last born of four. Her older sister and one brother attend CGA too. She is a beautiful, energetic young lady and loves to laugh and sing. She lost both of her parents to sickness, and is in the care of her uncle and his wife. Both are retired, and their five children are all grown and are away. The uncle runs a small pharmaceutical shop in Mbita and served once as the PTA chairman of CGA. They live in a rented, three bedroom house with no electricity. They have access to tap water for all their use. Violet walks two miles each day to school. She also helps with household chores such as washing the dishes and cleaning. She lives with her older brother, sister and one other child from the community. 2017 update: Violet graduated from CGA in 2016 and joined a boarding high school in January 2017. A lot has changed in her life. She has grown very tall and still loves to smile. Both her older siblings are in high school. Her uncle who had a pharmacy died and his wife is bedridden, Violet had to to move and live with her younger uncle's family. He works as a driver in one of the government ministries.They love her so much and she is happy. 2021 Update: Violet completed Form 4 in 2020 and has now enrolled at Sigalagala National Polytechnic where she is studying to receive a diploma in secretarial studies.
