Thank you so much for taking time out of your day to read this!
My name is AJ and I am a senior at Texas A&M, but more importantly, I am a servant of the Lord Jesus Christ! I am studying Agricultural Communications & Journalism. Which is basically talking to animals and then... writing about it. I'm joking. However, I will be graduating in August where I will then start working for Sewell Audi in North Houston in October.
For the past four years of my college experience, I have been a lukewarm christian. I believed in God and knew the sacrifice that Jesus paid for us, but I refused to sacrifice my life for him. That all changed one night in February in a CVS parking lot. God spoke to me and made me realize I wasn't doing the work He created me to do. I was in a dark place for most of my college years and I struggled with almost everything you can think of.
Since that February night, God has transformed me into a completely new dude. I'm no longer lukewarm, but literally ON FIRE FOR JESUS! God has convicted my heart to serve him every hour of every day.
I love sharing the gospel, His love, and how He changed my life immediately. I had been praying about an opportunity for him to open up for me to serve. The first mission trip fell through, but our God is SO GOOD and FAITHFUL. He may close doors he doesn't want you going through, but He always opens a new one!! I was reading my Bible before church one Sunday and literally got asked out of the blue to join this mission trip. What an amazing king we serve. Everything has been able to fall into place (praise Jesus) to make this mission trip a possibility! Now I just need the support of my brothers and sisters in Christ to help me get to Frankfurt! I am not worried, even though it's a lot of money... God keeps telling me the streets of heaven are PAVED WITH GOLD!!!Money is theleastof my worries.
In Frankfurt, I will be sharing God's story and demonstrating His love to refugees this summer. New refugees to the area are arriving heavily laden with worries, fears, and tons of emotional and spiritual turmoil. They need the hope that ONLYJesus Christ can provide. God has blessed me with the opportunity to make an impact in the lives of these families by sharing His message of hope and demonstrating God's love through a variety of relationship building opportunities.
The refugees will get to experience God in extraordinary ways through worship, through His word, and by us demonstrating His love. YOU can help this mission trip and help the refugees even if you're not going to Germany! How? Great question! I started this fundraiser to help me get there!! Not everyone is able to go on mission trips, but those that God has blessed financially, I would freakin' LOVE if you would be willing to donate whatever you can to help me go serve our Savior!
I don’t deserve to be where I am today. I don’t deserve to go on a mission trip like this. I should still be in the pigsty, rolling around in the mud while my Father stands on the front porch, awaiting my return. But he summoned me. He sprinted to me in grace as I stumbled to him in shame. He embraced me, and he has never let me go.
