Hello, Friends and Family-
It's been awhile since we've posted updates for you, but we've been very busy with the "paper chase" side of things during most of 2020, along with homeschooling, and of course, our businesses. Everyone knows how unique 2020 was for each of us, but we're thankful for our health and a New Year.
We want to immediately thank everyone who has been following along with us on this journey. Thank you to everyone who has been praying alongside us. Thank you to those who have watched our children while we've made trips to Des Moines for fingerprinting, documentation, etc. Thank you to those who have helped us get documents copied, and notaries signed. Finally, thank you for all of your generous financial gifts. We've had a few anonymous donors on this site, and we'd like to acknowledge your generosity also. We are SO grateful.
Our home study was completed and finalized in October of 2020. As of then, we've been completing the final steps in our USCIS 1800a immigration approval. This step simply confirms suitability to adopt in India. When India received our home study back in the fall, we were approved by CARA/Carings, India's adoption authority, and are now waiting to be matched with our child. This is a very exciting step in the process, but it is also overwhelming to say the least! At any time, we could receive a call from our family coordinator, Anneli. It's making this all the more real.
There are no further updates at the moment, but our approval by Carings and waiting for a match is a major step forward within the process. Our dossier is 95% completed, but we have to wait to have our final documents apostilled until after we have accepted a referral. (a match)
A few answers to some questions that you've asked...
India has a 2 year adoption program, and we will have reached the 1 year mark at the end of April. Other families within the AWAA (America World Adoption Agency) India program have been coming home even during the pandemic, which is very encouraging to hear. Travel and court has slowed down processing times some due to COVID, but we have not been affected yet.
India's program strives to maintain birth order, so we will be bringing home a child 4 years old or under. We do have a gender preference, but that is surprise for us to share at a later date!

Current Prayer Requests:
*Wisdom, clarity, and discernment as we discuss medical files with International doctors. We are trusting that the right child will be placed within our family. This can be very overwhelming.
*Our child. Pray God's protection over this child that has not yet been matched with us. Pray that he/she is well cared for while living in an institutionalized environment.
*Our Hearts. Allow God to capture our hearts and let him keep it safe from drama, frustration, anxiety, and a long journey.
*God's will. Pray that we would continually release this plan of adoption back to the Lord.
Praises
*Homestudy and Carings/CARA registration are completed! I800a immigration is almost complete. We hope to hear from USCIS soon.
*Our neighbor, who happens to be an Indian doctor, has been a huge blessing to us in gaining wisdom and insight. God is working and moving. It's exciting to share these God stories with you!
Thank you again for allowing us to enter into your lives.
Much love,
The Andersons
