Our adoption just got updated to Travel Planned Posted about ago

We leave for India in 2 weeks!! Holy cow! How is this possible?

A lot has happened within the last few weeks and within the last 24 hours! So much progress has happened within the last few months, and it has been hard to keep up with updates, paperwork, etc. on this site because the updates are always changing and things are progressing much quicker than anticipated- BUT we have travel plans!!!! Bear with me for a minute while I back up for a minute...I'm typing this while also applying for emergency visas at 11:45pm!

We originally thought that we would have several months to update friends and family on our progress, and to complete our fundraising plans, but the Lord has other plans! We leave for India the FIRST week in October. That's 2 weeks away!

If you'd like to read about our matching process, and our daughter, you can read the previous post, but here's the latest update and needs in a nutshell. I'll save the fluff, and just get down to it because we're tired, excited, and have much to do:

In July, our dossier (paper chase) was submitted to India for approval, and on August 31st we received NOC! This is great news because India has NO Objection to our adoption, and we need this certificate to register for court/travel. In July, we also celebrated our daughter's 1st birthday! We received 2 precious video updates of her, and she has grown! (Once we receive written court approval, we can share her name.)

Fast forward to yesterday, we randomly received a call from our agency that we were not anticipating for another 3-6 months. We initially thought that after NOC we would be waiting another 4-6 weeks for court registration, and another 4-6 weeks on top of that for a court date to be issued. Well, yesterday morning we received word that we have 2 court dates already scheduled: Sept 30th and Oct 5th, and that we need to be present for our hearing on the 5th.

The Lord knew the timeline because a family just found us a crib, car seat, and we just purchased some clothes at the Molencamp's adoption garage sale this past weekend. God is moving! As of now, we anticipate being in-country for 5-7 days, but there is a chance that one of us will need to remain in-country for additional time. If not, we will be traveling again within 2-4 weeks after this first trip to bring her home.

We've had a number of people ask how they can help. Here are a few ways:

1. Keep the prayers coming! (Immediate requests below) You are the community that we hope to build around our daughter as she grows into the family of Christ. We have felt your love and prayers!

2. Travel Expenses

With travel ahead of schedule, we haven't had time to complete our fundraising.
Our original fall fundraising garage sale and winter skate fundraising plans are obviously not happening at this time, and our travel grant applications are still pending approval. If you feel led, any financial contribution towards travel would be greatly appreciated! Good news is that everything has been financially covered except for travel expenses. He continues to provide! For both trips, our agency anticipates about $8000 needed for airfare, hotel, and an
in-country guide. If you feel led to support us in this way, you can Venmo Tyler's account or give online through our crowdfunding campaign:

Immediate Prayers:
-Our emergency visas would be processed and issued by the end of this week w/out hiccups in the mail
-Meds/prescriptions would be ordered before travel
-We would all remain healthy prior/during travel
-Negative covid tests before/during traveling
-Our daughter's health and all of the transitions that she will make in a short amount of time
-Upcoming court date/our judge would find favor quickly and efficiently
-Our kids at home. Pray for their hearts to remain flexible and encouraged during a crazy change of scheduling!
-Peace amidst the overwhelm
-God would be glorified

Many hands have been covering our sweet Baby A in prayer over the last 18 months, and we are excited to introduce her to you, and glorify God for all that He has done. We will keep you posted!

To Him be the Glory.

Hugs and love,

MacKenzie & family
