Throughout December, we said to each other some combination of these two sentences: “God must know something we don’t,” and “He’s telling us to get in gear.”

In December, we received several unexpected gifts that added up to $4,045 ($3,150 of that was since our last post). With each gift, we were so overwhelmed by the unexpected acts of generosity, and it was encouraging because we knew that each gift was given due to the prompting of the Lord.

We are incredibly thankful for all of the people who have donated to our adoption fund. We really appreciate your support. This leaves $1,912 left to raise for the first half of the adoption costs. The first half will allow us to pay the fees required to get a home study completed and get our names on the waiting list.

God keeps showing us that He wants this adoption to happen, and he confirms it through all the encouragement and support we have received and continue to receive from our family and friends.

We really feel like God is moving and lining things up to happen soon because of all the gifts we have received in the month of December. We are very close to being able to take the next steps in the adoption process. We were able to finish a lot of the paperwork over Christmas break. Our goal is to have the rest of the paperwork and home study completed by Spring Break in mid-March.

We need your help in raising $1,912 to finish out the first half. One way you can help is by purchasing a t-shirt. The cost is $15 for a short sleeve and $20 for a long sleeve for most sizes. It is a little bit extra for 2XL and 3XL sizes or for shipping outside the Abilene area. Our goal is to sell at least 100 t-shirts, which will get us about half way to the amount we have left to raise. If we sold 200, we would get all the way there!
