What
a ride it has been! As you may already know, I have been living in Springdale,
Arkansas for 2 1/2 years now. I have been recently gotten married to my
beautiful wife Becca last July. To top it all off, I have been working at Cross
Church in the Springdale Campus’ Student Ministry. My time at Cross Church has
led to me having the privilege to lead this ministry called Midweek.
Midweek
started just over two years ago, when we were given the vision to start a
ministry for students who normally wouldn’t be able to get a ride to church. We
began to pick up and drop off students and the rest is history. God has truly
had his hand on this ministry and what he has done in a short two years is
nothing short of remarkable. Just in the last semester we have seen over 1400
different students who have come to Midweek. Countless students have been
saved, baptized, and called to ministry! God has been wrapped up in everything
that has been going on in Midweek, and what a ride it has been!
We
have seen a wide variety of students who have come to Midweek, but Midweek
truly has had the biggest impact of the Marshallese community. Springdale is
the 2nd highest concentration of Marshallese people outside of the
Marshall Islands. There are around 80,000 Marshallese in the world and around
20,000 reside in Springdale area. Essentially, Springdale is a Marshallese hub.
Many years ago, the US did some nuclear testing near the Marshall Islands,
which did a great amount of damage to these beautiful islands. Over the past 50
years Marshallese people have been migrating to Springdale with the hope of a
better life. This community of people typically is in poverty and low-income
housing. God has literally brought the nations to us, and He has given us the
opportunity to minister to them.
Over
the past year my heart has grown the love the Marshallese people group. God has
positioned me to be on the front line to reach this people group, each and
every week. With all this said, May 29th-June 7th I have been given
the opportunity to spend some time overseas getting to minister to the
Marshallese People in the Marshall Islands. We will be working with local
churches, working with American missionaries, and even giving our students the
opportunity to write a letter to a relative, that we would deliver to the
islands! I am so excited to continue to go to battle for these people and see
God move through them. God is doing something special in the Marshallese people
and I want to give you the opportunity to be a part of it!
I
would be so grateful if you felt led to financially support my journey this
year! The total cost for the mission journeys is $4000. God has called me to Northwest Arkansas
to embark in this ministry and because of that I have been given the
opportunity to go overseas to minister to the people of the Marshall Islands. It
would mean the world to me if you would consider a generous donation on my
behalf.
Thank you so much for being a part of my life and helping me accomplish something that's important to all of us!
