Chapel Family Adoption

We have BIG news! Cooper is going to be a big brother through adoption! On February 19, we became licensed to officially add to our family an...
Our adoption journey began 8 years ago when Susan received a diagnosis of PCOS and insulin resistance. God turned our hearts to His Word and what He had to say concerning adoption so we began the journey with expectant faith. We contracted with an agency and were chosen by a birthmother but did not end up with a placement. This was devastating and after some counseling by our agency, we decided to put things on hold. Shortly after that, Chris lost his job for 8 months and the money set aside for adoption was used to supplement our financial needs, allowing us to end our unemployment debt free. This was bittersweet for us but something we saw God's hand in.
Though
God had not yet chosen to bless us with a child, biological or adopted, we walked in peace knowing we don’t have to have all the answers but just trust in
God’s plan. This is where we’ve landed
the past few years, until God spoke to Susan in August 2018 through a blog
post on unanswered prayer. He awoke within her heart the calling to pursue adoption
again, trusting Him for the outcome and asking for the desire of her heart with
a renewed boldness. God was faithful to audibly affirm this same calling to
Chris in January 2019 and we moved forward with paper work and inspections.
Never could we have imagined that God would orchestrate the expansion of our family so quickly! We are excited, grateful, and in awe of how He is moving. God is showing us that when we step out in bold faith, He will take care of all the details. We are trusting Him to do just that!
