Chapel Family Adoption

We have BIG news! Cooper is going to be a big brother through adoption! On February 19, we became licensed to officially add to our family an...
Names are an important part of a person. They are more than
just a string of letters. They identify us and define us. In Genesis 1 and 2 we see that God chooses to name the things He creates and
calls them good. He even gives Adam the job of giving specific names to
all the animals in the Garden of Eden.
Yes, names are important. And that's why we want to share with you the story of
how Cooper's little brother received his name.
When I received the phone call from our social worker that we had been matched
with a birthmother, my mind was racing in a million different directions. I
hung up the phone and immediately called Chris at work. "Well?" he
asked, "Is it a boy or girl?” I had no idea. I forgot to
ask. So, I sent an email to our social worker and she instantly responded:
boy.
A wonderful part of our agency is that they ask the birthmother to choose a
name for their baby. As adoptive parents, we pledge to use that name in some
way. It was an amazing confirmation to us when we learned the name she had chosen.
It was Timothy.
Earlier that day, I had just wrapped up a 7-week study on 1 Timothy. How
beautiful the relationship between Paul and Timothy! He calls Timothy his
"true child in the faith." That pretty much sealed it for us but more
than that, Timothy was one of the names on Cooper's list. It means "to honor
God."
One of our prayers throughout this journey has been, "God, be specific and
clear." He has been faithful to do just that, gently guiding us along the
way. All praise to Him!
So, we continue to wait for God's perfect timing in bringing home our son,
Timothy Hudson Chapel. Thank you for being a part of this amazing journey. We
can’t wait for you to meet him.
