SEVEN; the number of weeks it took for us to complete our paperwork and become a licensed home by the state of Texas. These were long weeks filled with the non-glamorous side of adoption...I mean, we had no fire escape plan posted (or even planned out in our heads) with Cooper and he's still alive and kicking today.

TEN; the number of days it took for us to receive the phone call that we were matched with a birthmother. No one could have ever convinced us it would have happened so fast!

SEVEN THOUSAND FIVE HUNDRED FORTY; the amount of money you have so graciously given in thirteen short days. How can we thank you for your outpouring of love?

TWENTY FOUR; the number of days until Timothy Hudson is scheduled to make is grand entrance into the world. Let me be honest when we say we hope he comes before! His Daddy is a worship pastor and that is practically Easter weekend--but what a fun story that would be to tell! No really. Pray he comes before.

Many of you have asked, "What is the cost of this adoption?" and "What does this money go toward?" Those are great questions! The total cost of this adoption is $24,000. Our goal is to raise $12,000 via family and friends. We are asking the Lord to provide the rest through grants as well as personal contributions that Chris and I are making on a monthly basis. We are in this with you but we cannot do this alone. This is a God-sized need and He is showing Himself ever faithful!

Your money, our money, goes to support the efforts of New Life Adoptions. This means that you are supporting the needs of birth mothers--this could be housing, counseling, medical needs, legal expenses, food and clothing. It also means that you are helping New Life with ministry costs, advertising to reach women considering adoption, staffing, etc...

Bottom line, without these fees, New Life would not be able to support OUR birth mother. We are so glad they are providing her the resources she needs to carry a healthy pregnancy as well as offering emotional support and housing during this challenging time in her life.

Adoption has turned out to be a beautiful whirlwind, marked by gigantic leaps of faith ordained by God. Before we took the plunge to say “yes” we weren’t really living! Since then, we find ourselves in awe as a community of friends, family and strangers step up to help meet our needs. We hope that YOU will be a part of this village and partner with us in prayer and/or financially to bring our son home.
