All,
This is simply a brief update to ask again for your prayers, especially for the management of the 'queue' with the jail....and for the weather. I've been very hopeful this whole way through that we could work out an arrangement with the jail that would allow families to be eating bbq in the tent (or playing chess, or checkers) while they are still in line to visit their loved ones.
We have a few ideas of how to make that happen--but the jail, understandably, has proved more reluctant to change their process than I was led to believe they would be. Say a prayer that we can work something out to honor these families's time and still keep things flowing smoothly for the jail.
As to the weather...perhaps a screenshot of our projected forecast will animate your prayers the way it is mine. It's a really hard forecast for me, as I've been thinking about this event for 18 months. But I trust that the God who has brought us this far will allow us to accomplish the work we're called to--even if that work involves shivering in 60 degree weather, rather than enjoying the beautiful sunny weather we're having today.
But I'd rather it not involve shivering, for many reasons. Waco weather changes frequently, and it's possible we may yet escape. But would you (seriously) pray to that end?
With gratitude as your servant,
Matt
