Our adoption just got updated to Paperwork In Process

We are currently knee deep in the first stage of the adoption process - paperwork! Lots and lots and loooots of paperwork. There's so much that goes into the adoption process that most people are unaware of, but it gives us the opportunity to show to educate ourselves and others through this new process.
While gathering and filling out all the paperwork, we are also preparing a home for a new member of the family. This includes supplies, baby-proofing, safety-prepping and a whole bunch more. All of this will be fact-checked by a representative to ensure our home is safe. The fact checking is called a "home study."
After the paperwork, we will be creating an autobiography or Profile Book for birth mothers to view and see if we would be a good match for their child. Again, this hasn't yet, but we are hoping to be Home Study approved and are very excited about getting ready for this part of the process.
Overall, there is no exact timeline for how things will go. The home study can take anywhere between a few weeks to eight weeks. We're trying to get everything done as soon as possible, but we know we need to be patient along the way.
We will keep you updated along the way here and on our social media. Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers.
