Luke, Kinsley and I are so excited to help our family grow through embryo adoption. We are adopting through Nightlight Christian Adoptions. Snowflakes is the division of Nightlight devoted to embryo adoption. They are so named because they share our belief that each embryo is unique and special just like a snowflake. And of course they are both frozen. :) We have 14 snowflake babies being shipped to us within two weeks and we are so excited to start the process of implantation to try to bring our next baby home.

Our belief is that each of these tiny embryo babies is a life in need of a home. If their genetic parents did not set up an avenue for them to be adopted, they would one day be destroyed when their genetic parents are gone. The genetic parents do not want that and neither do we.

We know that God is the Author of life and we know that He knows each of these babies and knows their stories. Psalm 139 tells us how God knows and helps to form each of us even from the moment of conception:

13 For you created my inmost being;
    you knit me together in my mother’s womb.
14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;
    your works are wonderful,
    I know that full well.
15 My frame was not hidden from you
    when I was made in the secret place,
    when I was woven together in the depths of the earth.
16 Your eyes saw my unformed body;
    all the days ordained for me were written in your book
    before one of them came to be.

We know that our snowflakes are "fearfully and wonderfully made" just as each of us in this world are.
