Hello everyone! It has been a few months of go-go-go but we just wanted to update you all in the process. We wrapped up our home study and received final copies in early October. That allowed us to submit our documents to be apostilled ::a fancy stamp that verifies our notary:: and submit our i800-a to USCIS to begin the immigration process.
Our apostilles came back in record time ::way to go MN!:: but we are still waiting for our USCIS Confirmation of Receipt. It’s no secret that we could very well be on the verge of another Covid related shut down as numbers in our region are climbing daily. Could you please join us in prayer that the immigration process can keep moving, even if at a slower pace and not just stop.
Once we receive our immigration approval, we can send all the documents we have ready off to our boys home country in a package called a dossier. That’s when things will really get exciting as official referrals and travel dates will follow!
As far as fundraising goes, we are now working on the second half of funds ::our foreign fee and travel fees:: and have been baking cookies like crazy for @TheSugaredBeet, creating sensory kits, completing an online auction and some beautiful Christmas ornaments and stocking tags along with applying for multiple grants.
Every little bit adds up and we will press on until our sweet boy is home. He is so worthy and we are so excited to be his family and step into the hard work of healing and growing together!
Love, the Effhauser’s
