THANK YOU for the support on a fun & full Loneliman Triathlon day Posted about ago

Thank you for contributing to this fundraiser for Next Generation Ministries we've simply called the FORTYMAN  40.3. Yesterday was a special three hour endurance journey on admitted an odd day for a triathlon. This iteration of the "Loneliman" triathlon was far from lonely. A whole crew was out there spotting for safety, providing nutrition, and even chasing me down with a "Nuke" (Coke+Nuun electrolytes). The most fun I've ever had swimming-bike-running in one session, giving my all on my Dad's 74th birthday (miss you Dad!) and for for the sake of a fatherless generation in Uganda

And we made some progress toward our goal, with $1,203 raised leading up to and yesterday. The fundraiser remains open until Friday 8/31. » purecharity.com/fortyman

Starting just after 7:30am: swim 1.0 + bike 33.1 + run 6.2 = 40.3 miles (aka FORTYMAN) with stellar race crew: Paul Hunter and son Dawson captured moments at the Cove, then setup for a cycling session in place using Zwift (riding in Innsbruck, Austria!), then on the run is when the real pain set in.

I ran to Gladstone, headed through downtown Oregon City, up Singer Hill to the bluff, and along the promenade I hollered to the support crew, "I'm not slowing down, you'll have to catch me." That's when Logan, usually an avid non-runner, had to chase me down.

The last mile was especially painful, and I remembered my Dad who endured so much in his life. I thought of the words of the first song heard on the run, "we don't get to be here long," and pushed as hard as I could. Of course the course wasn't closed by any stretch of the imagination, so through the heavy traffic areas I hopped between construction equipment, distracted drivers and sprinted through a green light. Up at the Revival Building awaited my bride and two sons right at the finish line. (Justice was all tuckered out from the morning.)

And later a recovery visit to Live Well Chiropractic & Dr. Nathan Edmonds to get checked out, and on the road to better recovery. Grateful for this season of renewed health. Though this one race for 2018 was delayed 11 weeks, the moment was worth the endurance. Thank you for your commitment to this worthy cause.

Grateful,

Jeff
