I am sure most of you are just as excited as I am about getting a spot at the IF:Austin gathering!
I had written off even trying to register until the committee decided to change to the "pay what you can" option which was the ONLY way I would be able to go. Once that changed, so did my decision to register and divinely got a spot along with all of you!Watching how this movement is growing is unbelievable and I'm excited and nervous about what is going to happen in Austin. I was happy to hear that so many of us are coming either alone or in a small group. What an opportunity to really get to know each other.
Then I thought about all of us arriving in Austin on Thursday and Friday, going out to dinner, walking to the conference and grabbing a cup of coffee on the way.
I could be walking right next to someone going right where I'm going. How could we spot each other right away? Why not get to know each other while we walk or ask someone traveling alone to join our table for dinner? How about a bracelet?!

I made these simple bracelets so we can spot each other. If you wear it to the airport you might just find someone that lives near you desiring the same things for your town. If you wear it around Austin you just might make a friend before the weekend even begins.
Even though a lot of us may be coming alone, this weekend is about anything but being alone!
To anyone that donates a minimum of $17 here, I will send you a free IF:Gathering Austin bracelet! Why $17?
Well, when I came up with this idea I was starting to read Jennie Allen's book
Anything. On page 17 she says in regard to God "First we ask, is he real? And second, do we really need him?." This is step one in our Austin journey. Can't wait to see you all and hopefully you will all be wearing your blue bracelets!! Look for me in line at the coffee shop :)
a little background...
I really want the people who have the vision for what this weekend was supposed to be to be able to carry it through to fruition. As fellow IF goers, let's see what we can come up with to help with OUR weekend. I have no doubt it will be amazing, but why don't we start to be a part of it now. Let's not sit back and passively hope others will raise enough money to fund our experience.
I hope these bracelets help to raise $10,000. Lets see how fast we can get there!
