We're adopting from Ethiopia!
John and I (Lacey) talked about adopting before we were married. Some doctors had told us our chance of having children on our own was unlikely, so we made the decision that if that were true, that our children would come to us through adoption. We waited on God and He proved He is bigger than any worldly diagnosis and gave us our 2 beautiful biological children -
Ella
and Jackson - and they are the greatest gifts on this earth!
A few months after Jackson was born, I felt like God was telling me something. Like He was telling me, "She's waiting for you". I wasn't sure what that meant exactly or who "she" was, but I decided to keep praying about it, about her. God quickly showed me that "she" was a baby girl somewhere far from here. I spoke (actually emailed, so shoot me, I'm better with written words) with John about this in July 2012 and after some time of prayer and research, he felt like adoption was the right move for our family. We have named her Josie - it is easier for us to pray for her by name and talk to our kids about their sister!
Right now, we are finished with our paperwork and just waiting until we can raise the money ($8450) to send it off to our agency and then on to Ethiopia! We are fighting hard to get the money raised before any of our paperwork begins to expire and we have to start over. It is such a difficult place to be, waiting on the Lord's timing, but we trust that it is perfect.
