MISSION TANZANIA

For several years now my church, Cross Church, has partnered with a local pastor in Tanzania named Pastor Fanuel Kiroka. Pastor Fanuel was led to Christ many years ago through the work of a missionary with the International Mission Board (IMB). About 12 years ago, another IMB family moved to Tanzania to help Pastor Fanuel reach his people, a particular tribe of people called the Pare People (pronounced Par-ā). This people group, numbering in the thousands, lives in a remote area of the Pare Mountains of Tanzania.

Going to Tanzania is something God put on my heart several years ago. I have watched as my father, Jeff Crawford, has led teams to the Pare Mountains over the last eight years. My older brother and sister have both been able to go on this mission journey when they were in high school. My father will be leading a small team of seven men from the Cross Church School of Ministry back to the Pare Mountains this fall. The Lord has opened the door for me to go and my school has given me permission.

The dates of the trip are November 5-15, 2018. We will be traveling into the Pare Mountains and helping Pastor Fanuel lead a training conference to equip young pastors and prepare them to plant new churches among the Pare People. To date, Pastor Fanuel has planted more than ten churches and our church has been involved in the training of the pastors for these new churches. We will also be hiking through the mountains doing “door-to-door” evangelism. We will also encourage the mother church that Pastor Fanuel has built with his own hands out of mud bricks, and we will also deliver supplies for a Bible Training Institute he is building as a part of his church.

The total cost of the trip is $4,000 which will cover the cost of air fare, lodging, and meals. I have already raised $1,200 of the money for the trip.

Would you pray for me as I go and also pray about making a financial investment so that I can be a part of this mission team? A gift of $100, $50, or $30 or any amount would make a huge difference on my ability to go on this trip and work with an amazing group of people to change the lives of the Pare People in Tanzania. This is truly a great work to take the Gospel to the ends of the earth!
