Misty and I have been married for 8 years. Growing up, Misty always had a passion for adoption. I, however, thought that I wanted to have biological children first, and then we could look at adoption somewhere down the road. However, as I became more aware of my wife’s heart for adoption, and ultimately God’s heart for the orphan, my own heart began to change. After volunteering at different orphanages and organizations that care for orphans, we became even more aware of the need for loving homes for orphans. Seeing the need first hand made us want to become a part of the solution, and to bring not only hope, but a loving home to an orphan.
When we started our adoption journey we were adopting domestically, and had actually completed our domestic home study. However, shortly after, a mutual friend of ours informed us of a beautiful little girl with cerebral palsy in a Chinese orphanage. We were informed that she had been in the orphanage since the age of two. She is now seven years old and will be eight in November. God had placed it on his heart to find a home for this child. After finding out more information, and with much prayer, we joyfully decided to move forward in the adoption of this precious child. We are incredibly grateful that we will be the parents of such an amazing little girl. Maya, even though thousands of miles away, holds such a huge place in our hearts.
As the fees for international adoption are much higher than domestic, we would greatly appreciate any help you could give us to bring our daughter home. We are truly thankful for your prayers and your donations.
Update: 6/17/2013- We just received notification that our adoption has been moved up. We will be receiving travel arrangements soon. As our adoption time frame has been moved up, we are in need of the remainder of our adoption fees in order to bring Maya home. We would be very grateful if you would prayerfully consider making a donation to us them bring Maya to her forever home.
With Love,
Brandon and Misty Hudson
