Dear Friends and Family,

Meet Finley "Finn". 

When Finley was 5-years-old, he was picked up at a train station with nothing but the clothes on his back. He couldn’t tell anyone about his family, nor himself. Finley also has Cerebral Palsy, and could not walk at this point. He was brought to an orphanage in southeastern China where he has been for the past 3 years waiting for a family to bring him home. “Work hard so a family will know you are strongand will want to adopt you,” is what they tell him. We have heard that he is a very strong boy, works very hard at his physical therapy, and is dearly loved by many of the nannies at the orphanage. How could you not adore him? Those dimples are too much! They also say he is very kind, shares with others, keeps the nannies informed when the other children are doing something that isn’t allowed, and loves snacks. He will fit in perfectly with our kids! They say he desperately wants a family and cries when families visit the orphanage to visit because he worries he will never have a family. Oh how we wish he knew how loved he already is and how eager we are to bring him home!

Being adoptive parents hasn’t always been in our plan, but thankfully it was in The Lord’s. We are blessed to have three biological children that are 14, 10, and 9. We aren’t even sure when the seed was planted, but we felt the first tug on our hearts several years ago. We went to an informational meeting at a local adoption agency to just “get more information” about the process. We prayed about it, and agreed that it wasn’t the right time. Years passed and we never really felt called to adopt until we saw his face.

We saw him on a friend’s social media page. She had recently adopted from China, and was in the process of her second adoption. She posted his picture, a small bit of information, and Jenn immediately started weeping. She knew that God placed these words on her heart, “This is your son”. Tyler read his story, saw his sweet dimpled grin, and asked what we needed to do to find out more.

God has redeemed so many things in our lives. We look at each other and are in awe of what He has done. We have 3 healthy and wonderful children, an amazing marriage, and some great family and friends. We want to bring this child home, and give him the love and care that he deserves. He says he “desperately wants a family” and we desperately want him to be a part of ours.

We are sending you this letter to introduce you to our soon-to-be new son and let you know how you can help bring him home. The total cost of our adoption is about$37,000… a very daunting cost to tackle on our own, but we would love to give our friends and family the opportunity to be a part of bringing Finn home. From donating airline miles, or hotel points, to paying for specific needs, to donating to fundraisers, to being our prayer partner, we have many ways that we could use your help. We will be having fundraisers and applying for a few grants, but the majority of our funds will most likely come out-of-pocket, and from donations. Please pray on this, and if you feel led to donate, please let us know. Every little bit is just that much closer to us being able to go get our son.

We are excited, and understandably a little anxious about what lies ahead for us and our family. We know that there will be years of therapy and other medical interventions, but we also know that our God is sovereign and he has called us to adopt Finn, specifically.
