Hi friends!
We've been "live" for almost 5 months now and have had our profile book shown once since then. (We were originally told to expect a 9 month wait before our book would be shown for the first time, so we're "ahead of schedule" if there is such a thing in adoption!)
Meanwhile, we've completed our Adult & Infant CPR/First Aid/AED training, and have made our FIRST big baby purchase... a stroller!!! It was actually an accident... I meant to buy a carseat and – long story short – I ended up with a stroller/bassinet/toddler seat and NO carseat. 🙄 But better to be over-prepared than under... right??
We're planning to touch base with our caseworker in the beginning of March to see if our profile book has been shown at all... Based on the stats she gave us last week, we're thinking it may start to see some action soon... yikes!
That being said, there is a chance that our son or daughter is alive right now... RIGHT NOW! We ask that you would be praying protection & health over him/her and his/her birth mom. I'm already feeling mama bear angst, knowing that I'm not able to protect them or care for them in this vulnerable time. This has been a great season of really trusting the Lord & I feel my prayers growing deeper & more earnest everyday.
