Ellie and Jeff have prayerfully
decided to join a mission trip to Nkhata Bay, Malawi this coming summer.
We are especially excited because this will be the first mission trip for both of us.
The
Lord has been doing amazing things in Malawi.
People are hearing, understanding, and accepting
the gospel with open arms and in large numbers. The fields of Malawi are
truly “white for harvest” (John 4:35). We are eager to take this opportunity to
join in the harvest by sharing the gospel with people who have never heard and
see them come to faith.
Each
day, we will travel out to area villages and share the gospel with the families and individuals we meet there.
Then, at the end of each day, we’ll teach
discipleship to the new believers.
New churches are already being
prepared for these new converts by dozens of local pastors. These pastors are
being trained and supervised within Training
Centers for Church Planters (TCCP), the organization founded by Jeff’s dad,
Jerry Wofford, over a decade ago.
The pastors are already, today, reaching out to the villages where we’ll
minister, preparing hearts and getting ready to shepherd new flocks of young
Christians.
We’ll
do this work along with a larger group organized by e3partners from June 3–14, 2019. Before returning home,
Jeff will host a pastoral training
seminar on theology to encourage and strengthen the local pastors.
We
hope you agree with us that this is very
exciting work and likely to be very fruitful.
In
order to go, each of us must raise $3,900, for a total of $7,800. Out of our own pockets, we’ll be able to provide $4,000,
about half of the overall cost. We need your
help providing the other half. If you’d like to give, please click "Donate" on this page. Whether
you list your name or give anonymously, your
gift is deeply appreciated.
