We are so excited to announce that we have officially finished all of our paperwork and visits that make up a home study! Now we wait for our social worker to put everything together and write up our home study. Once that happens, we will be moving on to the matching process.

Since we are adopting a child with special needs, we will actually have a specific child in mind that we are hoping to adopt when our home study gets sent to the Waiting Child Committee. At this committee, a group of social workers and members of the Thailand program review our information and determine if we would be a good match for the child we request to adopt. Sometimes only one family's home study is presented at a Waiting Child Committee meeting, but other times there are multiple families hoping to adopt the same child! When this happens, the committee looks at all of the information and chooses the family that they feel would be the best fit for the child.

We don't know exactly when we will be going to this next step and having our home study presented before the Waiting Child Committee, but we are hopeful that it won't be too long! We will make sure to post an update as soon as we are matched with our little boy or girl!
