October 2018 Update
It has been a busy and exciting first month or so of our adoption story. Since our last update, we have met with the agency director and officially been listed on their website as an "active family". We have started to do some fundraising (thanks to all have supported us so far, we are blown away by your gratitude!) and we have completed our "profile book" which will be shown to the birth mothers to give them a glimpse into our family and lives. Shout out to Lindsay for driving this ship forward - without her I'd be stuck in neutral!
We are so grateful to everyone who has helped get to this point. It seems like forever ago that we were attended our first informational meeting to learn about the adoption process and everything that goes into each placement. We are so thankful to have a wonderful team at Christian Adoption Services (CAS) that works each and every day to make a difference in the lives of children who need it most. We know that God has already identified the perfect child for our family and we need to wait for His plan to reveal him to us.
We have been encouraged by many of you and your kind and thoughtful words as we wait. Waiting is certainly not easy, but we are thankful for each of you as you check in for updates, offer words of encouragement and let us know that you have been faithfully praying for our family as well as our child's birth family. Please continue to remain diligent in your prayers because we know that prayer works!
On the home front, with the nursery finished, Kasey can't keep his excitement about being a big brother to himself. He often tells us (as well as strangers) that his baby brother is coming. It has been a tremendous blessing to see him get so excited and willing to share both his time and his possessions with an unknown baby brother. He truly is a reminder of how selfless we should all be in our lives. He gets more joy out of sharing with others than having for himself (most of the time anyway, he is 4 after all.)
In closing, we want to thank you again for your prayers, encouragement and support. They continue to lift us up as we wait for God's perfect plan & timing.
