About
For: The New Legacy Home for Women
The Lubbock Dream Center serves in excess of 1600 people with countless different needs each week. One enormous unmet need in our city that continues to present itself is the lack of designated housing that provides a structured program for women and children in crisis. The Lubbock Dream Center serves many women that have a desire to move out of destructive life patterns but unfortunately have no place to start. This type of specific housing will be the catalyst that will enable women in crisis to get on a productive path and permanently change the legacy they leave for their children.
The Lubbock Dream Center received another generous grant from the JT and Margaret Foundation for $1.5 million dollars to help build the New Legacy Home for Women. The remaining $500,000 needed to complete the home was raised through fundraisers, businesses, churches, a Betenbough grant, and private donations from individuals in our community. The New Legacy Home for Women is now under construction and the home will be debt free when completed in 2018! We respectfully request $53,900 to fund the accessories for the home such as appliances, linens, cooking utensils, plates, silverware, computers, home décor, and miscellaneous items needed to open the New Legacy Home for Women. Any amount awarded would be greatly appreciated and stewarded with integrity.
