Hello friends and family,
As we continue to wait for our anticipated little boy to come home we wanted to share some recent updates with you all. These past months we have been waiting for updates in the adoption process without much change. That all changed this week! Our official paperwork has now been received by the Korean government and is awaiting approval. This marks the beginning of the final steps of the adoption process.
As we are waiting please continue to keep us in prayer. We have seen the effects of so many people praying for us and our adoptive son throughout this process, but most recently in this current step of the process. It was a miraculous surprise in timing. We had been informed that this step would not be happening until sometime in 2022, but thanks to the mighty prayers of many friends, the tireless advocacy of adoption workers behind the scenes, and the merciful hand of God we have moved forward!
"Great! Now what is coming next?" you might ask. The timeline of how long it will be before our future son is home with us is still fairly unclear, but we do know some of the things that will need to happen between now and then. First, our paperwork that has been received will need to be stamped as "approved." Then, we will wait to be assigned a court date for official adoption proceedings. Once we have a court date scheduled we can make travel plans. There will be two trips a few weeks apart, and on the second trip we will bring him home!
In this next period of waiting, we would be grateful for prayers. Here are some of the ways you can pray.
Please pray ...
- that the process will continue smoothly and that no interruptions to the process will occur due to paperwork errors, bureaucracy, or any other unforeseen issues.
- that we will be able to be scheduled for a court date quickly and efficiently.
- for our hearts to be prepared to welcome our future son into our home and for the challenges that will come in building attachment to one another.
- for his foster family and for any anxiety or fear they may be dealing with in anticipation of the adoption, and for them to be comforted and to receive peace from God as they deal with these and many other emotions.
- for our future son's heart to be prepared to form attachment with us as his forever family.
Thank you for your support, love, generosity, and prayers!
