Dear Friends and Family!

We have so much to share with you since our last update! We are officially a part of the Korea Program and are receiving regular updates on the process from the Holt Korea Team. Also, our Home Study has been scheduled and we will be starting to work with a social worker soon.  This process will most likely take between 3-5 months, during which they will assess whether we and our home are safe, stable, loving, and supportive.  During this time, we will also participate in a variety of adoption education classes to prepare us to care for our child's emotional needs as he/she becomes a part of our family.

Working towards our financial goals, we have applied for two adoption grants and are waiting to hear from the grant committees.  We also were blessed to receive a tax credit for 2018 which will go into our savings for the adoption.  As of today, we have raised 30% of our fundraising goal. In addition to the donations made on our AdoptTogether site, friends and family have donated $3,600 directly through cash and checks. This brings our fundraising total to $12,050! We have been completely blown away by the love and support we have received from so many friends and family members. Your prayers, letters, and financial support mean the world to us!

Praises

• We have paid for the Home Study process and are scheduled to begin working with a social worker.

Upcoming Financial Needs

• U.S. Processing Fee #2 -  This fee is due after the agency approves our Home Study and covers adoption agency's cost to facilitate our adoption with agency and government officials in both the United States and Korea. 
• Pre-adoption Medical Review of Child Referral Material -  Before we can accept the assignment of a child we are required to review child material with a pediatrician experienced in international adoption to discuss potential diagnoses and outcomes as well as identify resources needed to meet the child's needs. 

Current Prayer Needs

• For our Home Study please pray that the social worker will find our home a safe, supportive, and nurturing place to raise our next child and that psychological evaluations will go smoothly.
• Please pray that our adoption grant applications will find favor with the grant committees.
