Guess WHAT guys??? We are so excited to share with you that we have ANOTHER baby boy!!!
I KNOW this has to be a surprise to you, because well, it was kind of a surprise to US! The cliff notes version of this story is that for
about a month I have been trying to decide where we wanted to adopt
from next and just poking around all over the place getting a feel for
what we wanted to do. Ive been looking at A LOT of waiting child lists because I really wanted to get a child who was waiting and less likely to get a home. I saw a
child posted on a special needs wait list for our agency. He has anemia and congenital hypothyroidism. All of the waiting families for our agency had, up to this point, passed on him saying he was "too special needs" for them. The unknown IS so scary.
With a gulp down my throat I
said " Lord, I'm gonna call and ask about him and if this is supposed to happen, my hands
are off, I want YOU to make it it to fall in place!" So after one phone call asking
about him, getting his full medical file to show all my medical savvy friends and
having my pediatrician look it over that night .. We were MATCHED with him the next day!
Every little crazy detail has just fallen right where it was supposed to. He is now 5 months old and the part about the Congenital Hypothyroidism that is potentially scary is that they didn't get him started on medication until he was 3.5 months when he came to the orphanage, where in America it is started right after birth. That gap in time could
have affected his brain and caused damage or he could just have some delays, we DON'T
know. And we probably won't know until well after he is home. He is on medication now and will be for the remainder of his life.
But we said yes and he IS ours. I'm scared, I'm excited, I have NO CLUE how we will get 30K and fly to ET 2 times in less than a year after feeling like I JUST did that and the PAPERWORK? yeah. My brain is fried but lets just hope that because I JUST did this, it will come back to me quickly ... Cause' hey, my hands are off!! I know and trust that God has got this!
I saw his little face (that looks an awful lot like Caden's by the way) and I could not let him just sit there without a mommy and daddy EVEN if he is 'damaged.' We believe in giving a child an opportunity to grow up in a home, with a FAMILY and we will love him and teach him as best we can!
We've started a fundraiser on Pure Charity to raise the funding that we need to make our adoption a success. We have put the goal of $10,000 that will go towards the costs of the adoption. We are now in complete SAVING mode, working hard, not spending on anything other than what is necessary to live, fundraising, using my talents to sell things I can make and whatever else I can think of to help us. Not only is adoption the way we have acquired our family and the way in which we grow it, but we believe God's word that "God places the lonely in families; he sets the prisoners free and gives them joy." Psalm 68:6
Every donation is important and will help make this adoption a success!!! Would you kindly consider making a donation? Also, we would appreciate your willingness to share this with others who may want to participate. Because He has special needs that He needs to get some good medical treatment for, we want him home as FAST as we can get him here. I know that you all rallied around us for Koral and Caden to get home, I believe we can get this sweet boy home as well!
And how awesome is this fundraising page because they have made EVERY donation TAX DEDUCTIBLE and It goes straight to our agency !!!
easy peesy guys.
Thank you so much for being a part of our lives and helping accomplish something that's important to all of us! We will be updating any adoption info on our Adoption/Family blog so come check it out and follow us if you want to be in on the know at www.justlove127.com. We love you all more than words can say.
