Dear family and friends,

We are thrilled to announce that we are starting our adoption journey!  Adoption is something we have always had a heart and passion for, and feel like God is prompting us to start the process!  As most of you know, both Tim and I have worked for an amazing adoption agency for many years and have loved being a small part of bringing families together.  It is a privilege and an honor to be involved in a ministry that helps cherished children of God find their forever family.  

We have been blessed tremendously with two beautiful children and can't wait to add another one to the mix!  As some of you know, we found out a few months ago that Sara was expecting our third child.  We were extremely excited but also felt a sense of worry with the pregnancy.  We decided not to tell anyone until we had been in to have our first ultrasound.  We went in to the doctor's office hoping for great news and came out of the office in tears and with broken hearts.  The doctor's suspected a miscarriage but wanted to wait a week before confirming; that was one of the most difficult weeks we have experienced.  We mourned our loss and struggled to understand why this had happened and how to tell our family.  Upon returning for a follow up ultrasound the doctor was shocked to find what seemed to be a rare full molar pregnancy.  This occurs when there is a genetic error, which leads to growth of abnormal tissue and rarely involves a developing embryo.

All that to say, even though we lost a pregnancy, we did not lose a child.  It was comforting to know that there wasn't a baby, but we still had to deal with the loss of all of the hopes and dreams we had for our growing family.  Our doctor let us know that Sara should not become pregnant again for a minimum of a year and there would always be an increased risk of this happening again  Sara was taken in for an emergency surgery the very next day (which was a holiday) so the entire staff volunteered to come in and take care of her.  The team was amazing and Sara has fully recovered with no complications, praise God!  God has been so faithful during these last couple of months and we feel like this was His way of showing us the amazing plans He has for our family.  

We have decided to pursue a domestic adoption through International Family Services.  We will be adopting a child of another culture within the United States at birth.  By adopting this child we can save him or her from being aborted or entering the foster care system.  We can give this sweet child a loving home, a Mom and Dad that will cherish him or her, and a big brother and sister that can't wait to cuddle and play with their baby brother or sister!  We know that this process will be full of ups and downs and will require us to trust God fully to meet our needs, both emotionally and financially, but we are ready to step out in faith and find our baby!  

Please join us in praying!  Pray for our baby's birth parents.  That God would be ever present in their lives and take care of their needs.  Pray that they would know what an amazing, selfless decision they are making by finding a forever family for their child.  Pray that our baby would be protected and would grow healthy and strong.  Pray for us as we fundraise, fill out paperwork, prepare our home and our hearts, and wait for a match with a birth mother.  Pray that God would give us the words to communicate our story and passion to the many birth mothers that will read our profile books.  Pray that above all else God's perfect will for our family will be done!
