Hi everyone!

This update has been a long time coming and we are thrilled to share with you! Last time we sent out an official update was about a year ago, time is flying by!  

Here is what we have been up to in the last year:

1) We sold our adorable home in Georgetown and bought our dream home just a few miles away! The house is on 2 acres, has a beautiful herd of deer living in the neighborhood, and is a kid's dream! We have amazing neighbors with kids that Liam and Kaili have quickly grown close to and tons of "woods" for them to explore. Tim hung up swings all over the property and the kid's spend most of their time outside.

2) We decided to start homeschooling Liam this school year and it has been a refreshing change! Liam loves the freedom he has to finish school before lunch and play with his friends all afternoon. He is super smart and is excelling in all subjects, he especially loves History and Science just like his Dad!

3) I was offered a job at our amazing church as the Nursery and Preschool Director! It has been a whirlwind since the first day on the job! We recently moved into our brand new building, had an unforgettable Grand Opening, and just hosted a Women's Conference. I love the team of people I get to work with and the children and families I get to serve every week!

4) Kaili started Preschool at our church and is loving it! She has the best teacher who adores her and she is learning so much everyday! She will join Liam this upcoming year on the homeschool journey and we are excited to continue watching her learn and grow!

5) Honorable mention! Liam managed to have a burst appendix, break his arm, and need major orthodontic work done this past year. He is doing a great job being a boy!

On to the adoption update:

This time last year we had just started fundraising and had raised about $1,500 of our $20,000 goal. We were working hard sending out letters, creating handmade items to sell at local craft shows, and brainstorming fundraiser ideas in the hopes of raising enough to pay for our application fee and home study fee. The awesome news is we have raised $6,800.00 through donations, craft shows, and hosting "Date Night" babysitting events!

This money has allowed us to pay for our application, home study, and print our profile books! These are huge steps in the process!!!

Our application fee and Home Study were huge tasks with all of the paperwork and the long to-do list to get our house ready. We were so excited after our home visits were complete, such a heavy weight was lifted once this was done! The Home Study was a crucial step in the process because in order to apply for Adoption Grants and Scholarships we needed have an approved home study. We have applied to two granting agencies already and plan on sending in applications to a couple more. It is a long process, but we are praying we will be chosen to receive a grant!

Once our Home Study was complete we started working with Tim's amazing sister Kelleigh to have our profile books made. A profile book is filled with photos and narrative about our family that is placed in the hands of women who have chosen adoption for their unborn child. We were so blessed to have Kelleigh walk us through the process and put her special touch on our books. They are beautiful and tell our story so well! Our books are on their way to various birthmothers and we get to simply wait to be chosen.

During this period of waiting we would love to have our loved ones partner with us in prayer as well as financially. We need prayer for patience as we wait, for safety and health for our child and his or her birth mother, for provision as we continue through the process, and for every detail to work out according to God's plan and purpose! Once we are chosen there will be many fees associated with the match. We have to plan for travel fees (plane tickets, car rentals, hotel stays, etc), birth mother related expenses, and lots of legal fees that will quickly add up.
