By now you've received a sponsor letter from the mom you're helping in Kenya. If you haven't sent one in, please do. The girls look so forward to receiving your letters!
Here's a quick update with pictures we hope you enjoy! We will be adding more as we get them.
Edith and Hawi:Edith is doing very well in her sophomore year of high school
She is a Resident leader and a class representative at her school, both honors. Her grades are very good. Hawi is in good health and enjoying her baby class very much.
"I have always aspired to be a good mother to my child.
In order to secure a good future for myself and my child, I realized that it is
important to work hard and utilize every available opportunity granted to me. I
resolved to work hard in school and participate in all events which will in the
end affect my life." Edith
Violet and Maureen
Violet is in grade 3 of Fashion Design at a vocational school. She says, "
I
continue to perfect sewing skills every day and hopefully after completion, I
will be able to start my own business and cater for all my needs." We are so very proud of her hard work! She also was so encouraged by her first project, "After being enrolled in college, the
first task I was given was to make sure that I was able to sew my own uniform.
I worked hard making sure that I understood everything I was taught and
ultimately I was able to sew my first ever uniform.
At
school, i am a leader in our class; i lead my class as a representative in
terms of sharing materials with other students and checking the status of the sewing
machines. At church I participate in the praise and worship.
Maureen in also in school at a baby class while Violet works hard. "I
also have a good relationship with my family members. They take good care of my
child when I am in school. They also pay me visits during school days. I am
happy that they welcomed me home when I exited Rehema House."
