You have heard us talk about our lead artisans,
Jalia and Daniel, in Uganda for 3 years now. Their handcrafted accessories were the first products that
Noonday ever sold.
In the 3 years since partnering with Noonday, their Ugandan workshop has grown to 40 artisans! Not only do the artisans earn a living wage, but they function as a family.
Well,
Jalia and Daniel got in a car wreck a couple of weeks ago and they need some new wheels! They use their car to transport artisans home to their families and to doctor appointments, on top of delivering Noonday orders to our air carrier.
So think school bus, ambulance, and UPS truck all rolled into one vehicle.
To make a long story short, they are also now having to pay to repair the other vehicles involved in the wreck. They don't have traditional insurance that Americans are accustomed to. Some of you heard about the wreck via Facebook, asked if you could help, and so we thought, "heck, yeah!"
Will you join us in generously giving $5,250 to get them a new set of wheels?
This is more than the majority of Ugandans earn in a year. Please help us support a family that is literally transforming Uganda.
Thank you!!
