A little more detail Posted about ago

The last month has been nothing short of a roller coaster of emotions in the O house.  First, we were matched with two different birth mothers from an agency, but both opportunities fell through for various reasons.  As if that wasn’t frustrating enough, Amy had another miscarriage a couple weeks ago.

And then we experienced a “...but God” moment.

A few days ago, we were matched with Keemara, a young, single Naive American woman, who lives in Arizona and is pregnant with a boy.  After filling out several more forms and having a phone conversation with Keemara…. the O's are the official adoptive parents (in waiting).  Baby O (official name is still tbd) is expected to be born on July 11th, but like most other births, he will enter this world when he is good and ready.

Obviously, plans will be tweaked as we learn more info, but as for now, I will fly Amy and her mom out to Phoenix a day or two before Baby O is born and get them settled into a temporary home.  After the child is born, I will need to return home to get back to work (somebody has to pay for all this), while Amy and her mom will stay back in Phoenix while all the legal paperwork is completed.  Since the child will be at least half Native American (we don’t know who the birth father is), the process will probably take a little longer than usual.  Not only do we need to go through a tribal court, but also the state court to comply with the law.  In short, this will take between two to three weeks.  Once everything is complete, Amy, Baby O and her mom will fly home.

As you can imagine, we are beyond thrilled with how things are coming together, but we still have a ways to go.

If you don’t mind, please keep praying for:

- the health of Baby O, as well as Keemara
- our relationship with Keemara will continue to grow and remain healthy
- wisdom and discernment for decisions that still need to be made
- the Father's favor on the legal process / timing

Once we get closer to the birth, I’ll send out another update.
