Safely home from the high Andes + the hot Jungle. Offf to India mañana. Nov. 26 2016.From Debbie's pen:
Thanks so much for your faithful prayers for us. God is good and we are so thankful for His provision of safety, good health, and some good interactions on this past Peru trip.
Our time in the high Andes went well as we worked with our team of Peruvian Andes leaders and together followed up on several areas that have received previous training. It was good to evaluate and see for ourselves what the pastors are actually grasping and putting into practice in regard to evangelism, discipleship and church planting. This also helps us see who we will continue to work with in the future.
From the Andes we went to the jungle town of Yurimaguas where we were specifically following up with 5 pastors that we had visited in February of this year and they asked us to come back for more training. Instead of training as a group we met with each pastor for a few days going with them to different persons of peace that they knew of and modeled for them how to evangelize and disciple. The pastors were very excited about this and said for the first time that they are understanding how some of the principles and practices that we have been training on actually work!
We continue to learn that discipleship is an ongoing process that requires time, relationship, and training from the Word of God. Thanks for standing with us as we continue to GO and make disciples of all the nations.
Patrick has his last trip of the year (Nov 27 to Dec 16) soon, to follow up with persons we have trained in India. He travels with a colleague and friend, Mike Burr.
Love you!
Debbie for the O'Connors
