Project New Sole is an initiative to get local US support for an ongoing Shoe Donation Program in North Korea, launched by SunyangHana International Foundation in 2009. Last year, SunyangHana was able to donate over 12,000 pairs of snow boots to North Korean children.
The winter months in North Korea go down to as low as -30°C (-22°F) and many North Korean children do not own appropriate shoe protection to survive the harsh conditions. With only $10, our shoe factory in Rajin (Northern NK) and its humanitarian team can manufacture a pair of snow boots and distribute it to a child in need!
International Care Community (ICC) and the SunyangHana team in North Korea want to partner with YOU to finish off 2014 to provide children with snow boots for this upcoming winter. With a projected goal of $10,000 and a matching fund donation by Sakura Restaurant, we will be able to donate a total of $20,000 (2,000 pairs of boots for 2,000 children) in time for the colder weather.
Please continue to check back in for updates & help us spread the word for this campaign!
