Our adoption just got updated to Paperwork In Process

So…it has been a while since our last update. We have been through the ringer with questions, doubt, uncertainty, and just plain old confusion. We had to put our plans for China on hold due to travel restrictions. We didn’t feel like we would be acting as good stewards of the money people have entrusted us with if we paid for all of the requirements of adoption from China when there is no way we can get in at the moment and there being no plan in place for China to reopen at this time. So, we dropped our application from China. We felt God leading us in a different direction, but we didn’t know where. We considered domestic adoption both private and through DSS, but we never felt settled. We just couldn’t find and agency we felt good about. We couldn’t feel at peace with DSS. We started looking into other countries and thought potentially Colombia would’ve a good fit. But after looking more into the process there and the lack of communication from them we decided that may not be the best route either. And finally after a lot of frustration we spoke with CCAI again and found that a prior restriction that kept us from working toward Taiwanese adoption had been lifted and we qualified to adopt from Taiwan. We felt immediately that God had opened that door for us, and we were ready to step through it. Our application for adoption through Taiwan has been approved, and we have paid our first program fee for CCAI to get the ball rolling on our dossier and fingerprinting. We are officially rolling toward Taiwan! Please continue to keep us in your prayers! We will have more updates soon!
