The Exodus Road exists to empower the rescue of victims of sexual slavery. Operating primarily in Southeast Asia and India, we believe that a major component of fighting human trafficking and child slavery lies in working with local law enforcement to find situations of trafficking and to then assist in the rescue of victims and the prosecution of criminals. By decreasing the profitability of the trafficking industry for the criminal, we will eventually slow the mechanisms that make the exploitation of women and children so lucrative.
The Exodus Road is not a single investigative organization, but rather it is a network of surveillance teams and individuals, committed to fight trafficking, one legal court case at a time. As a coalition, The Exodus Road has 125 undercover investigators in our network and have supported the rescues of 191 victims of sex trafficking since July 2012.(Click here to read more statistics.) What do we mean by "Rescue?"
When The Exodus Road talks about “Rescue,” we are referring to the removal of a person from either:
* an actual trafficking situation (ex. raid with police of a locked brothel) or
* sexual abuse to an underage victim (ex. pedophile abuse).
The “rescues” we support involve situations where the victims are being sexually exploited and do not have the power to leave on their own accord, whether by force, threat, violence, coercion, debt, etc.
What Your Donation will go towards:
$1,000 a month will fuel all of the investigations for one complete case.
This fundraiser will affect an estimated 12-34 people:
10-30 victims
2-4 arrests of perpetrators
All numbers about affected persons by this project are estimated, as investigations and the resulting raids can not be predicted. Our best estimates listed here are based on past cases in India. Should the case happen in Thailand, the numbers of affected persons will likely be lower. Funds here will go towards the costs involved in the investigative process of one complete case, from gathering initial tips and evidence to covering potentially a portion of the costs involved in the raid itself, depending on the mission.
