Our hearts desire at Hope Remembered is to partner with and support local people on the ground in Guinea Bissau. People who know the language, culture, customs, and heart of Guinea Bissau. How much more effectively can they serve and spread the Gospel among their own people groups!
Giving to this fund helps support an indigenous missionary couple Jeremias and Domingas. Their heart is to live and serve among the Papel people.
In addition to Jeremias and Domingas this fund supports the work efforts of long time missionaries working in rural education, Fredy and Raquel Schafer.
We have partnered with Jeremias to build a foster home, school, and medical clinic in a remote Papel village. When the project is complete they will be able to move and serve full-time in the village. The Lord provided the funds for the first phase of the project which will cover the cost of the mud bricks and the roof of their home and one well. We are now raising funds to complete the last well and put the final touches on the home.
The land for the foster home was donated by the village elders and the site has been surveyed. It is a beautiful site in the jungle with large trees and shade. It sits just to the left of the main entrance into the village.
Once the home is complete we will move towards the construction of a full time school.
Fredy and Raquel have built and manage several remote schools throughout Guinea Bissau. Giving to this fund helps manage and maintain these schools as well as provide teacher training and much needed supplies for the schools.
100% of your giving to this fund reaches the field in Guinea Bissau. The funds will go where needed most (either Jeremias project or Fredy's established schools) unless you specify a project with your giving.
