Savannah Somerville's fundraiser for Sole Hope Winte...
by Savannah Somerville 500 Lives Impacted
On January 15th, I get the incredible opportunity to intern as the photography/social media intern with the nonprofit organization Sole Hope in Jinja, Uganda.
For a few months, I get to see and be a part of what God is doing in the lives of the Ugandan people through this life changing organization.
In Uganda, parasites called jiggers burrow themselves in the feet and hands of vulnerable children and elderly. With simple hygiene, education, and proper shoes, jiggers can be prevented and those effected can gain back their quality of life. Sole Hope's role is simple: wash every foot by hand, inspect and remove every jigger, provide every child with new shoes to protect their feet and give them education to remain jigger free. By doing this, Sole Hope gives children back their freedom to run, to play, to laugh, and to simply be a kid again
The total for my internship, (includes flights and living and food expenses) is $4,672.00
Each month costs $550. This includes my room, food, and wifi for that month.
If you feel led to financially support me by paying for a month, or whatever you feel you should give, you can donate here.
Any donations, prayers, and encouragement are greatly needed and appreciated!
